Site Assessment and Site Measure
SCS’s qualified site engineers will conduct a meticulous site assessment and measure before installing any windows. This is done to optimise the result of a window installation project and to prevent complications along the way. With a careful site assessment, extra cost can be prevented. The process of site assessment and measure will start from where the engineers attend the site and assess the site condition. It is then followed by the formulation of the best method to install windows to best meet customers’ standard.
The standard measurements that need to be done for window installation are:
- Measuring width: measure between the jambs at 3 points (i.e. top, middle, and bottom of the window opening). Measurements are taken from the surface of the jambs. The smallest measurements of these three will be used to order the window.
- Measuring height: measurements are taken from the high point of the sill of the window to the top of the window opening. Three measurements are taken: one at the left side, one at the centre and one at the right side of the window. The smallest of these 3 measurements is used to order the window.
- Measuring depth: there must be at least 8cm of opening depth between the inside window trim and the outside blind stop strip to accept the depth of the replacement window.
A précised site measurement promises smoother installation processes, reducing hitches that will consume time and expenses.
